The real estate market in Cape Coral, Southwest Florida, turned around and stabilized. In 2013 prices started to go up and attractive properties in good locations are harder to find (see some of our 2013 transactions). This is especially true for vacant land / lots. In addition, new construction picked up significantly. Increasing prices for drywall, concrete and other construction materials made new homes about 10% – 15% more expensive than 12 months ago. We expect these trends to continue in 2014.
